We live in a world where everyone wants to do something big. We dream of becoming big officers, big leaders, big scientists and changing the whole world. And while waiting for that big opportunity, we ignore the small opportunities that come to us every single day.
We think, "What difference can my one small act make?" My friends, let me tell you today, that one small act can make all the difference.

Let me start with a small story.
A boy was walking on a beach. The beach was full of thousands of starfish that had come with the tide. They were dying in the sun. The boy started picking up one starfish at a time and throwing it back into the ocean. An old man came and laughed at him. He said, "Son, there are thousands of starfish here. You cannot save them all. Your effort will make no difference." The boy smiled, picked up another starfish, threw it into the sea, and said, "It made a difference to this one." That is the power of a small good deed. It may not change the whole world, but it can change the world for one person.

What is a small good deed? It is not about donating millions of rupees. A small good deed is:
1. Waking up and wishing your parents Good Morning with a smile.
2. Helping your mother carry a small bag.
3. Sharing your lunch with a friend who forgot his tiffin.
4. Helping a junior student who has lost his way in school.
5. Saying "Thank You" to our bus driver, to our security guard, to the woman who cleans our classroom.
6. Not throwing garbage on the floor, and picking up a wrapper even if you did not throw it.
7. Listening to someone carefully when they are sad, without checking your phone.
8. Saying sorry when you are wrong.

These acts cost us nothing. They take only a few seconds. But they create a ripple effect.
If you drop a small stone in a pond, you will see small circles becoming bigger and bigger and reaching the entire pond. Kindness works in the same way. Your one small act of kindness inspires another person to be kind, and that person inspires another. This is how a chain of goodness is formed.

In the end, I would like to say - people may forget how much you scored in your exams. They may forget what prizes you won. But they will never forget how kind you were to them.

Let us be that person who is remembered for kindness.
