શિક્ષક – “દરેક સફળતા પાછળનું જાદુ”
આજનો દિવસ ખૂબ જ ખાસ છે. આજે 5મી સપ્ટેમ્બર – શિક્ષક દિવસ છે.
આ એક એવો દિવસ છે જ્યારે વિદ્યાર્થીઓને પોતાના શિક્ષકોને ત્રણ જાદુઈ શબ્દો કહેવાની સુંદર તક મળે છે—
“Thank you, Sir/Ma’am!”
અને કદાચ આજે એક દિવસ માટે શિક્ષકોને પણ કહેવું નહીં પડે—
“કેમ વાતો કરો છો?”
“હોમવર્ક ક્યાં છે?”
“હું રાહ જોઈ રહ્યો છું…”
પરંતુ મજાકથી અલગ વાત કરીએ તો, શિક્ષક દિવસ માત્ર ફૂલો, કાર્ડ અને ઉજવણીનો દિવસ નથી.
ભારતમાં 5મી સપ્ટેમ્બરે ડૉ. સર્વપલ્લી રાધાકૃષ્ણનજીની જન્મજયંતી નિમિત્તે શિક્ષક દિવસ ઉજવવામાં આવે છે. તેઓ મહાન શિક્ષક, તત્ત્વચિંતક અને ભારતના ભૂતપૂર્વ રાષ્ટ્રપતિ હતા.
એવું કહેવાય છે કે જ્યારે તેમના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ તેમનો જન્મદિવસ ઉજવવા માંગતા હતા, ત્યારે તેમણે સૂચન કર્યું કે તેમના જન્મદિવસને બદલે આ દિવસ શિક્ષક દિવસ તરીકે ઉજવવામાં આવે.
કેટલો સુંદર વિચાર!
આ આપણને શીખવે છે કે સાચો શિક્ષક માત્ર પોતાના સન્માન વિશે વિચારતો નથી, પરંતુ શિક્ષણ અને શિક્ષકના મહત્વ વિશે વિચારે છે.
શિક્ષક માત્ર આપણને ગણિત, વિજ્ઞાન કે અંગ્રેજી શીખવતા નથી.
શિક્ષક આપણને જીવનની ઘણી મોટી વાતો શીખવે છે—
કેવી રીતે વિચારવું,
કેવી રીતે પ્રશ્ન પૂછવા,
નિષ્ફળતાનો સામનો કેવી રીતે કરવો,
પડી ગયા પછી ફરી કેવી રીતે ઊભા થવું,
અને સૌથી મહત્વનું—પોતાની જાત પર વિશ્વાસ કેવી રીતે રાખવો.
ક્યારેક આપણે કહીએ છીએ—
“સર, મારાથી આ નહીં થાય!”
અને શિક્ષક કહે—
“એક વાર ફરી પ્રયત્ન કર.”
આપણે કહીએ—
“પણ મારાથી ભૂલ થઈ ગઈ!”
શિક્ષક કહે—
“તો એ ભૂલમાંથી શીખ.”
અને જ્યારે અંતે આપણને સફળતા મળે ત્યારે આપણે ગર્વથી કહીએ—
“મેં કરી બતાવ્યું!”
પરંતુ એ સફળતા પાછળ ક્યાંક એક શિક્ષકનો અવાજ હોય છે—
“મને ખબર હતી કે તું આ કરી શકીશ.”
આ જ તો છે શિક્ષકનું સાચું જાદુ!
અને સાચું કહું તો, શિક્ષકો પાસે કેટલીક ખાસ સુપરપાવર પણ હોય છે!
તેઓ વર્ગના છેલ્લા બેચમાંથી થતી ધીમી વાતચીત પણ સાંભળી શકે છે…
કોણ વાત કરે છે તે જોયા વગર પણ ઓળખી શકે છે…
અને સૌથી આશ્ચર્યજનક વાત તો એ છે કે—
હોમવર્ક કોણે નથી કર્યું, એ પણ તેમને ખબર પડી જાય છે!
અને શિક્ષકોની એક બીજી અદ્ભુત સુપરપાવર—
૪૦ વિદ્યાર્થીઓ ભણાવતા હોય છતાં, ઘડિયાળ તરફ કોણ જોઈ રહ્યું છે એ તેમને બરાબર ખબર પડી જાય!
અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓ, સાચું કહીએ તો—
જ્યારે શિક્ષક કહે છે,
“આ પ્રશ્ન પરીક્ષા માટે ખૂબ જ મહત્વનો છે…”
ત્યારે આખો વર્ગ અચાનક એ પ્રશ્નમાં અદભુત રસ લેવા લાગે છે!
પરંતુ આ બધી કડકાઈની પાછળ છુપાયેલું હોય છે—
પ્રેમ અને કાળજી.
આપણે થોડાં વર્ષો પછી કદાચ પાઠ્યપુસ્તકના ઘણા પાઠ ભૂલી જઈશું.
કદાચ કેટલાક ફોર્મ્યુલા પણ યાદ નહીં રહે.
પરંતુ આપણે એ શિક્ષકને ક્યારેય નહીં ભૂલીએ—
જેમણે આપણા ડર સમયે આપણને પ્રોત્સાહન આપ્યું,
નિષ્ફળતા સમયે આપણો સાથ આપ્યો,
અને જ્યારે આપણે પોતાની જાત પર શંકા કરતા હતા ત્યારે આપણા પર વિશ્વાસ રાખ્યો.
આજે આપણે માત્ર એટલું ન કહીએ—
“Happy Teachers’ Day!”
પરંતુ દિલથી કહીએ—
“આભાર શિક્ષકો, અમને એ પાઠ શીખવવા બદલ જે કોઈ પણ પાઠ્યપુસ્તક શીખવી શકતું નથી.”
પ્રિય શિક્ષકો,
તમે અમને માત્ર પરીક્ષા માટે તૈયાર કરતા નથી—
તમે અમને જીવન માટે તૈયાર કરો છો.
અને જો આવનારા સમયમાં અમે સફળ થઈશું, તો એ સફળતા પાછળ ઘણાં લોકોનાં નામ હશે…
પરંતુ એ યાદીમાં ક્યાંક પાછળ એક શિક્ષકનું નામ ચોક્કસ હશે.
અને હા, પ્રિય શિક્ષકો—
તમારી ધીરજ, માર્ગદર્શન અને પ્રોત્સાહન માટે ખૂબ ખૂબ આભાર…
અને જ્યારે તમને લાગતું હતું કે અમને પહેલેથી જ ઘણું હોમવર્ક છે, ત્યારે પણ વધુ હોમવર્ક આપવા બદલ પણ ખાસ આભાર!
